The firm tries not to be overly prescriptive. Different people work differently and staff are given the freedom to pursue their own interests and ways of working, however we very much encourage an approach that emphasises active discussion and exchange of ideas.

Rod Campbell-Taylor
Rod is the managing solicitor. After law school in London and then training/qualifying in Suffolk Rod moved back to London in 1996 when he started his own practice. He has been a member of the Law Society’s specialist Mental Health Panel since 1996 and was formally a committee member of the Mental Health Lawyer’s Association. He is Chair of Hackney Cooperative Developments.
He was one of the first practitioners to bring a mental health case based under the Human Rights Act and has brought a substantial number of Judicial Reviews in mental health and community care, and has experience of taking cases all the way to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
Rod has experience of finance and welfare Court of Protection work, bringing claims against public authorities and hospital based personal injury claims. He also provides advice on NHS care, care home disputes, regulatory and safeguarding issues. |
Belinda Adu (Solicitor)
Belinda qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and spent nearly two years working in the community care department of a large city centre firm in Liverpool doing a mixture of legal aid and private work. She was the conducting solicitor on a number of high profile cases involving the law relating to “age assessments” of young asylum seekers.
Belinda also has experience in health and welfare and finance court of protection work and has successfully secured damages for clients who have been unlawfully deprived of their liberty.
In addition, she regularly assists clients with challenging community care assessments through the statutory complaint process and judicial review.
Belinda has also assisted clients with retrospective claims for NHS Continuing Healthcare, charging disputes, issues around ordinary residence, provision for families with no recourse to public funds.

Parisa Khaneghah (Solicitor)
Parisa joined the firm in 2013 as a paralegal and qualified as a solicitor in 2016. She provides advice and assistance across a broad range of mental capacity matters, including assessment of capacity, best interests decision-making, deputyship and Lasting Powers of Attorney. Parisa regularly represents family members in the Court of Protection.
She is a member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Panel and provides representation at Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers hearings. Parisa can also assist in community care matters and has experience of successfully challenging assessments and decisions made by local authorities and NHS bodies where they affect vulnerable people, including ‘children in need’.

Lucy Venn (Solicitor)
Lucy qualified as a solicitor in 2015 and joined the firm in 2021 after training and working at various international law firms in The City of London. Prior to this, Lucy worked as a Mental Health paralegal at a high street firm.
Lucy is a member of the Law Society's Mental Health Accreditation Scheme and represents detained patients before the Mental Health Review Tribunal.
She also has experience of advising and representing clients in section 21A applications in the Court of Protection. |

Fadi Zaki (Trainee Solicitor)
Fadi graduated from Cambridge University with a BA in Law in 2018 and graduated from law school in 2021 with distinction in the LPC. He joined the firm in 2018 as a paralegal and became a trainee solicitor in 2021. |
Bill Jackson (Specialist Caseworker)
A graduate of St Andrew's University, Bill is an accredited mental health legal representative with over 30 years experience of mental health work. Before becoming a lawyer he worked as a social worker, including a period a Broadmoor Special Hospital. He has massive mental health experience and has previously written independent social work reports. He also has experience of claims for unlawful detention and MCA work. |
